Deborah regularly delivers training and lectures to specialist and lay audiences for clients such as Historic England (HELM), the Landscape Institute, the departments for continuing education at Oxford and Cambridge universities and, most recently, the RTPI. She has helped develop bespoke training courses for Natural England and has recently been invited to contribute to Garden Masterclass. In 2022, as Course Leader, Deborah helped relaunch the respected course, Managing Wildlife in the Historic Environment, at West Dean College. Deborah is mindful of the loss of opportunities in historic environment training for landscape professionals and remains committed to share her knowledge and experience.

During her career, Deborah has judged the Heritage and Conservation category of the Landscape Institute awards on three occasions, chairing the panel in 2013. While employed by Historic England, she also participated in short-listing candidates for the national Angel Awards.

One of the best presentations I have heard at a RTPI SW event, informative, a variety of landscapes covered, very knowledgeable (showed) how change can be positive, and examples of where this should or could be done.
